The Hot Club of Derbytown
re-creates the hot sounds of vintage jazz produced in Paris in the 1930s and 40s produced by the
Quintet of the Hot Club Of France
featuring legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt
and the virtuoso swinging violinist Stephane Grappelli

The Hot Club of Derbytown is also one of the area's top contra dance bands, having moved dancers at dance weekends in Louisville, Lexington and Berea, KY, Indianapolis, IN, and dances in Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton, OH, and Nashville, TN
Their driving rhythm, seeming to require more than just three musicians, and their original mix of old-time, Celtic, French Canadian, modern contra tunes, and original tunes, as well as the occasional swing tune, keeps dancers on their toes.

Veteran performers Tom Cunningham, 'Django' Jim Webb, and Blue 'Bleu' Murphy
bring this sophisticated and energetic music to life once again,
along with red-hot gypsy melodies and old-time blues and ragtime music.
